ICYMI: Taiwan extends visa-free travel for Filipinos until July 2024
Good news, Filipino travelers! You may still enter Taiwan without a visa and stay there for up to 14 days until next year.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participating agencies have agreed to extend visa-free entry to Taiwan for nationals of Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 “after evaluating the effectiveness of the convenience measures over the past years and considering the need to revive mutual bilateral exchanges and tourism in the post-pandemic area.”
Filipino travelers must complete a few requirements before their trip, including proof of accommodation, their host or sponsor’s contact information, as well as sufficient travel funds.
The maximum length of stay for Pinoys in Taiwan is up to two weeks.
Note that diplomatic, official, and service passport holders are not eligible for visa exemption.
Taiwan's annual visa-free bulletin is being updated annually. It resumed visa-free travel for Filipinos from September last year to July 31 this year.
The country began easing its borders to international travelers in September 2022 amid its continued recovery from the global pandemic.
