Cibo among best artisan pizza chains in the world for 2024
Cibo made waves in the international food scene as it was named among the best artisan pizza chains in the world this year.
The Italian restaurant, which is owned by award-winning chef Margarita Forés, ranked 44th in the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2024 as announced at the recently concluded World Pizza Summit during the European Pizza Show in London.
On social media, Cibo expressed its gratitude to its team and loyal consumers who made it possible.
"A big grazie to our team and loyal patrons for loving what we do—bringing you the REAL.MODERN.ITALIAN. experience that earned us this honor," the caption read.
According to the list by 50 Top Pizza, Cibo has been loved since it was established 27 years ago for its "good Italian food at reasonable prices and in easily accessible locations, mainly in the large malls of Metro Manila."
It also noted that the food spot's menu is "very extensive" and "satisfies all hours of the day, from pastries for breakfast to evening offerings." These include sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, soups, and pizzas that have "light, well leavened, and perfectly cooked" dough.
"Good quality Italian products and a lot of kindness from the staff make the difference. Prices are average for the city, but with a significantly higher quality," it concluded.
Spain's Grosso Napoletano, Neapolitan pizzeria Antica Pizzeria di Michele, Italy's Big Mama Group, Bráz Pizzaria, and Luigia made it to the top five of the list, respectively.
Forés started Cibo on Aug. 22, 2007. It opened its first branch on the second-floor walkway connecting Glorietta 3 and Landmark in Makati. It has over 25 branches nationwide, as of writing.
