Dior has dropped a chic gardening set in honor of Christian Dior’s love of plants and flowers. In signature Dior style, it comes with a hefty price tag: $8,700 USD, which is about 474,202 in Philippine pesos.
Designed by Kim Jones, the new release “exemplifies the codes of Dior’s leather goods with curved lines inspired by the House’s iconic Saddle bag.”
It includes a hand rake for raking and leveling soil and a spade for digging and replanting. “Embellished with bull calfskin, they both reveal the engraved ‘DIOR’ signature at the handle ends,” the luxury brand noted.
The designer kit, available in black and beige, comes in a special box with pouch. Aside from its saddle flap seat, it’s also made with a magnetic flap patch pocket.
The lux gardening set gained mixed reactions among netizens. While some found it necessary, others questioned whether or not it's worth the price.
"I like some Dior clothes. What do they know about gardening?" an Instagram user commented on a post by lifestyle hub Hypebeast.
"How does a gardening kit cost more than my car?" another one said.
