LIST: From private islands to boutique hotels, PH scores big at 2025 World Travel Awards
The Philippines won prestigious awards at the recent World Travel Awards Asia and Oceania gala in Hong Kong, highlighting its status as a top travel destination.
The country is no stranger to winning such accolades, having been named Asia's Leading Beach Destination for the eighth time, Asia's Leading Dive Destination for the seventh time, and Asia's Leading Island Destination for the second time.
Beyond the magnificent views these destinations offer, the Philippines boasts a vast array of world-class hotels, resorts, and accommodations, where top amenities are a significant added plus.
Admiral Hotel Manila, for one, received the Asia's Leading Design Hotel, while Amanpulo earned the Asia's Leading Private Island Resort title.
Several prominent resorts also received local accolades, including Discovery Shores Boracay, Pangulasian Island Resort in El Nido, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, and Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort.
In a statement, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco reaffirmed the Department of Tourism’s commitment to strengthening the Philippines' position as a premier travel destination.
"We continue to empower our people with meaningful livelihood opportunities, foster sustainable growth in our local communities, and ensure that every traveler experiences the world-class warmth and hospitality that define the Filipino brand of service with excellence,” she said.
