Since its premiere in 2024 on Netflix, Culinary Class Wars became the first Korean unscripted title to dominate the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks.

The show featured one hundred elite chefs divided into two classes. One group of 20 celebrity chefs was dubbed as White Spoons and competed under their real names, while the remaining 80 contestants were non-celebrity chefs who were classed as Black Spoons and competed under aliases.

Culinary Class Wars followed a cookery contest format in which contestants competed throughout various rounds. Their dishes were judged by Korea’s top restaurateur, Paik Jong-won, and Chef Anh Sung-jae of Mosu Seoul, the country's sole Michelin three-star restaurant chef.

Kwon Seong-joon from the Black Spoons was eventually declared the winner and won the KRW 300 million (P12.7 million) prize money.

It has since been renewed for a second season scheduled to premiere in 2025.
