Filipino bakery set to bring Pinoy flavors to Olivia Rodrigo’s new music festival
Filipino flavors are set to make an appearance at Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival, with California-based San & Wolves Bakeshop joining the event’s food vendors.
The vegan and immigrant-owned bakery, which is based in Long Beach, California, announced that it will set up shop at the inaugural festival on Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine.
Festivalgoers can expect Filipino-inspired offerings from the bakery, including ube ensaymada, pandan sago, pop tarts, and atchara hotdogs.
For San & Wolves, the event marks its first time joining a music festival. The bakery has previously participated in various events, both large and small, before taking its menu to a festival setting.
“We’re very honored and excited to be part of it!” The bakery said in its Instagram announcement, encouraging attendees to visit its booth.
The bakery also gave Rodrigo a personal invitation, tagging the singer and her team in the post and jokingly asking the good 4 u hitmaker to stop by. Rodrigo appeared to see the message, as she liked the post.
Daisy Chain Fields will bring together an all-women lineup spanning different generations and genres. Among the performers are Chappell Roan, Garbage, Doechii, The Breeders, Mitski, Bikini Kill, and KATSEYE.
The event will donate all net proceeds to organizations advocating for women and girls. It also serves as another celebration of Rodrigo’s Filipino-American roots, which she proudly showcased during her 2024 Manila concert in a “Pinoy Pride” shirt and “Miss So Filipina” sash.
Now, Filipino food will have its own place at Rodrigo’s latest festival, giving attendees a chance to sample familiar Pinoy flavors while taking in a lineup centered on women in music.
