Uncle Roger’s first restaurant FUIYOH! set to open in Malaysia
Exciting news, nieces and nephews!
Nigel Ng, more lovingly known as YouTube’s Uncle Roger, will go beyond his funny reviews of egg fried rice recipes.
In his video tribute to Anthony Bourdain uploaded last July 1, Uncle Roger mentioned his restaurant plans as he watched the late chef eat assam laksa.
“Another reason to go to Malaysia, Uncle Roger actually gonna open my very first restaurant over there, fuiyoh!” Uncle Roger told his viewers. “Coming soon later this year, but sssh don’t tell anyone okay? This little secret, just for loyal niece and nephew watching this weejio.”
A month later, Uncle Roger made the official announcement through the restaurant’s new Instagram account, @fuiyohitsuncleroger.
The signage outside the restaurant read: "Haiyaa... Good things take time. Wait long long."
It also said it was looking for people to join their team, and that they are hiring a floor manager/assistant manager, kitchen manager/assistant chef, waiter/waitress, commissary chef, and steward. Interested individuals may contact HR at +60162146372.
Other than this upcoming restaurant, Nigel Ng has ventured into the food business. He sells his own Singaporean-inspired frozen Creamy Chili Crab Pasta, made in collaboration with Chinese-American Brand MiLa.
Haiyaa, fans will have to wait a bit more to try Uncle Roger’s fried rice. FUIYOH! opens on September 2024 at Pavilion KL.
