Erwan Heussaff continues to serve Chingolo Deli steaks online with PayMaya

In January 2020, celebrity restaurateur Erwan Heussaff opened Chingolo Deli with his brother-in-law.

Their Makati-based butchery-deli kitchen distributed Argentinian premium steak cuts to restaurants in the metro. They also saw two months of full restaurant operations before it got whipped by the challenges brought by the pandemic.

Like other enterprising businesses, Chingolo Deli took their offerings online, serving up their Argentinian steaks, deli products, special sauces, and other kitchen equipment through an e-commerce store.

A sizzling presence online

Since Chingolo Deli has already been using PayMaya One, an all-in-one payment terminal in their restaurant, it was an easy decision to enable their e-commerce site with the PayMaya Checkout payment solution.

This online payment gateway allowed them seamlessly accept any type of cashless payment using PayMaya, Visa, Mastercard, and JCB credit, debit, and prepaid cards as well as other e-wallet accounts.

The restaurant also has access to PayMaya Manager, a dashboard that helps them manage and track all of their transactions coming from various channels in a single platform.

“We’ve actually been using PayMaya since day one, even when we still operated a face-to-face business. All our cash register transactions were actually using the PayMaya system, so we just integrated that to our e-commerce business as well," shares Erwan.

As Erwan transitioned Chingolo Deli online, he noted the importance of having the right platform as it will help expand the business. Aside from its e-commerce site, the butchery-deli kitchen utilizes other digital sales channels like PayMaya Mall and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Viber to serve its customers.

Through PayMaya Mall, app users can easily pay for their orders with their mobile numbers or through digital QR.

Meanwhile, for orders via text or call, the restaurant staff sends a digital payment link via text, email, or Viber so customers can pay with their PayMaya account or any credit or debit card.

“Trust me, if you haven’t been using PayMaya as both a customer and a merchant, you should do that right now because it will make your life so much easier," Erwan added.
