Sicilian Roast’s limited-time dessert puts a frozen, ready-to-go twist on classic tiramisu
Are you a cake or ice cream kind of person? Sicilian Roast offers the best of both worlds with its Frozen Tiramisu Bar.
The hot season can be draining. Aside from going to the pool or the beach, you can always turn to sweet desserts for a quick cool-down.
Sicilian Roast’s famous tiramisu has been transformed into a frozen dessert bar, which features the familiar layers of espresso-soaked cream and mascarpone, but instead of the usual dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder on top, it is coated in cocoa and served frozen—making it an ideal grab-and-go treat.

Since this Italian classic dessert is often served in a cup or cut into portions from a tray, making it a handheld dessert was a challenge.
"We went through a lot of versions before this one stuck. Mascarpone and cocoa hold up fine cold, but espresso gets muted fast once you freeze it. Getting that coffee bitterness to cut through the sweetness at a lower temperature took some figuring out," says Executive Chef Matt Navarro.
"Tiramisu has always been one of our best sellers, so it made sense to start there," CEO Lorenzo Vega added.
This dessert is the latest addition to its summer offerings, which include Frutti di Mare, a squid ink pasta with seafood in shrimp bisque, and the Parmesan Truffle Chips with real shaved truffle.
