Bacolod’s rising lifestyle district showcases the best of Chicken Inasal Festival
Bacolod City is known for its rich gastronomy, and among its many culinary treasures, chicken inasal remains its most celebrated. Widely regarded as the city's signature dish, it has earned international recognition, with TasteAtlas ranking it among the world's best chicken dishes. It is only fitting, then, that this iconic Bacolod delicacy is honored through its own annual festival.
This year, the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival reached new heights, drawing larger crowds and offering a more vibrant showcase of the city's rich culinary heritage and traditions. Among the festival's key venues was Megaworld's The Upper East, which hosted some of the celebration’s biggest events.
In partnership with the City Government of Bacolod, the festival staged the inaugural Grand Chicken Inasal Parade, which drew huge crowds and featured colorful floats representing some of Bacolod's most beloved chicken inasal establishments. The parade added extra sizzle to the festivities. On the other hand, the Street and Arena Dance Competitions kept the energy high as participating barangays wowed audiences with performances inspired by the city's rich culinary heritage.
The celebration became even more flavorful at the Inasal Market and the BCIF Rotisserie Show, also held at The Upper East, where festivalgoers followed the irresistible aroma of chicken inasal and other grilled specialties. With smoke rising from the grills and long queues forming at food stalls, the attractions offered visitors a feast that was as much about Bacolod's culture as it was about its cuisine. Together, they showcased the flavors that have made the city one of the country's premier food destinations and the undisputed home of chicken inasal.
