Matteo Guidicelli rips open PS5 in new video; viewers say he did it on purpose this time

It’s a moment many netizens have seen coming: Matteo Guidicelli unboxing a PlayStation 5.

This is after the TV host-actor got criticized by netizens for his PlayStation 4 unboxing video last June, wherein he was seen callously and carelessly opening the package of the game console.

At the start of the nearly four-minute video posted today Jan. 13, a voice in the background can be heard telling Matteo, “Kuya, it’s expensive.” To which Matteo replied, “It’s expensive.”

“If it breaks, you buy a new one ah,” the voice said.

“I’m sure you guys are expecting this moment to come,” Matteo said before unveiling the PlayStation 5 package.

He then said, “Something special, bring it down, bring it down” before the unopened PlayStation 5 is thrown at him. “What a catch, what a catch,” Matteo said after catching it.

Before opening the package, Matteo placed his mic on top of the PlayStation 5. “So, you know what, I have something special to do. The mic? I’ll put it right here for you gamers,” he said. Matteo then proceeded to, again, rip the PlayStaion 5 box open.

“ASMR ba tinatawag diyan? Para sa inyo yan,” Matteo said.

Matteo took out the items included with the new gaming console, including a PlayStation 5 controller which he drops on the ground.

He clumsily removed the paper wrapper covering the console, which made the PlayStation 5 roll and hit the table. Don’t worry about the PlayStation 5, Matteo said, because the table where the console is placed is “shock absorbent”

Matteo ended his video, saying: “Comment as much as you want.”

Some of his followers and viewers aren’t too happy with Matteo’s PlayStation 5 messy unboxing, judging from the tweets about it and the comments on the actor’s YouTube.

Comedian Michael V., himself a YouTuber, also commented on Matteo’s unboxing video.

But others said that, this time, Matteo seems to be in on the joke, intentionally “trolling” his viewers with callous PlayStation 5 unboxing following the flak he got for his PlayStation 4 video last year.

“Haters must be livid. Trolling level: Matteo,” one YouTube user quipped.

“I think this time he's doing messy unboxing on purpose,” said another.

“This one is on purpose,” another user said. “Unlike the first unboxing he did, it was natural.”

“Matteo is so good at being sarcastic that everyone thinks he's being serious,” read another comment.

Of course, there are those who felt Matteo's careless unboxing was on purpose, but they're angry at him just the same.

In any case, it doesn’t seem like Matteo has much time to play with his new, unboxed PlayStation 5 anyway. He will host a new singing competition show on TV5—titled “Born To Be A Star”—which will premiere on Jan. 30.
