What did Filipinos stream the most on Netflix this year?

As people stay home to protect themselves from coronavirus, many have counted on Netflix to amp up their days.

Various movies and TV shows have become much-needed sources of entertainment in the midst of riveting—most of the time, overwhelming—news and happenings across the globe. According to the popular streaming platform, it’s been a “Year of Many Moods,” with Pinoys watching a myriad of genres all year round.

Through Night and Day starring Paolo Contis and Alessandra de Rossi topped the list of the most streamed movies on Netflix Philippines this year in the romance genre. 

Other top titles in 2020 are Enola Holmes in drama, The King: Eternal Monarch in K-drama, Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap in comedy, Over The Moon in kids & family, Extraction in action, Money Heist: Part 4 in thriller, #Alive in horror, American Murder: The Family Next Door in documentary, and Weathering With You in anime.

K-dramas have also been a hit for many Filipinos, with a viewership that increased by 350% from last year. The top titles in the K-drama world include The King: Eternal Monarch, Kingdom: Season 2, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Itaewon Class, Start-Up, The World of the Married, Record of Youth, Extracurricular, The School Nurse Files, VIP, and Hi Bye, Mama.
