PSA: Ayala Museum will have free admission on May 31
An enriching cultural experience awaits.
The Ayala Museum in Makati will open its doors with free admission on Saturday, May 31, in observance of International Museum Day and National Heritage Month.
In a Facebook post on May 23, the museum shared that operating hours for the free day are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Slots are limited so be sure to pre-register your group (up to 10 names per registration) at this link, and remember to bring your email confirmation and valid ID to claim your free entry.
If you're 20 minutes late, your chosen time slot will be given to another visitor.
"It is best to maximize the two-hour time slot by planning which galleries you prefer to spend more time in," the museum said.
Additional names added to one's booking after pre-registration will be counted as walk-ins, and pre-registered visitors will be the priority.
Beyond free entry, the museum will also feature "bite-sized activities that add a fresh twist to learning." That includes printmaking demos with HOCUS Screen Prints, Anton Villaruel, Jone Sibugan, and Res Cruz Flores; art activities with googly gooeys and Mickey Velarde; live art sessions with Agos Kulay; guided tours for hearing and non-hearing visitors with DEAFinite Tour Guiding Services; trivia game shows; Himig playlist and book display with Filipinas Heritage Library; quick chats with a conservator; and a Pocket Museum challenge.
There will also be food booths for museum-goers.
According to the Ayala Museum website, current exhibitions include "Reuniting the Surigao Treasure: From the Collections of the Ayala Museum & the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas," "Amorsolo: Chroma," and "Finding Zóbel Prints."
Permanent exhibitions on-site include "Ayala Museum: In Microcosm," "Ceramics and Cultural Currency: Exchanges of Pottery and Prestige," "Globe Digital Gallery," "Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures in the Philippines," "Skeins of Knowledge, Threads of Wisdom," and "The Diorama Experience of Philippine History."
Regular museum rates are at P650. There are also discounted rates of P350 for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, students, and children below 12.
