The very first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) isn't complete without the hottest celebrities in the Philippines aboard showstopping floats during the inaugural Parade of Stars.
Stars of the festival's eight participating films, along with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, attended the affair on Sunday, April 2.
Spotted at the star-studded event were the likes of Aljur Abrenica, Carlo Aquino, Elijah Canlas, Enchong Dee, Alex Gonzaga, Coco Martin, and Bela Padilla, among others.
They represented their movies About Us But Not About Us, Apag, Here Comes The Groom, Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok, Love You Long Time, Singlebells, Unravel: A Swiss Side Love Story, and Yung Libro Sa Napanuod Ko. These official movie entries for the first-ever Summer MMFF will hit theaters from April 8 to 18.
The Summer MMFF was originally set to take place in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It saw 33 film submissions, from which a final eight were chosen based on artistic excellence, commercial appeal, Filipino cultural sensibility, and global appeal.
The Parade of Stars is an annual tradition showcasing floats inspired by official entries.
The best float will be recognized alongside movie-related categories at the awarding ceremonies to be held at Cubao's New Frontier Theater on April 11.
