The Summer MMFF was originally set to take place in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It saw 33 film submissions, from which a final eight were chosen based on artistic excellence, commercial appeal, Filipino cultural sensibility, and global appeal.

The Parade of Stars is an annual tradition showcasing floats inspired by official entries.

The best float will be recognized alongside movie-related categories at the awarding ceremonies to be held at Cubao's New Frontier Theater on April 11.
