‘Nakakakaba buksan’: Pinoy couple draws laughs with Meralco-themed wedding invitation

A Pinoy couple drew laughs with their unique wedding invitation that looks a lot like an electricity bill. 

A snap of the invitation recently went viral on social media after it was shared by Edison “Bong” Nebrija, chief of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s Task Force Special Operations, on his Facebook page. He said he thought it was a disconnection notice from Meralco. 

“Yung akala mong Notice of Disconnection, ngayon pala, Notice of Invitation,” he captioned his post, which has garnered almost 11,000 reactions as of this writing. He also called it the “most unique invitation” he’s ever received.

“Nakakakaba naman buksan ‘to,” a netizen commented in the post.

“Isa ‘to sa malalakas magpatibok ng puso,” another one said.

“Baka sa sobrang kaba, hindi na buksan at hindi na makapunta sa kasal dahil akala Meralco bill,” a Facebook user joked.

The wedding invite from Filipino couple Luisito Antonio (LA) Santos and Joy Babor resembles a Meralco bill, except it reads “Mahalco” instead of Meralco, the billing amount shows the date of their special day, and the billing statement contains details of the upcoming affair.
