A spokesperson for Kensington Palace gave an update on the possible return of Catherine, Princess of Wales, to work, almost two months after her cancer diagnosis announcement.

In a statement sent to BBC News on May 21, the representative said that Kate is not expected to return to her royal duties “until it’s cleared by her medical team.”

The spokesman, however, shared that she had been briefed on a report by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which “will continue to be central to her public work.” According to E! Online, Kate founded the organization in 2021. It “aims to drive awareness and action on the transformative impact of a kids' early years.”

Kate has not appeared in a public event since December. She underwent abdominal surgery last January and has been on a break from public duties since.

She didn’t disclose her condition to the public at the time, though a source told NBC News that it was non-cancerous.

The princess revealed she's battling cancer in March. She is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy and is now in the early stages of the treatment.

Her husband, Prince William, returned to public duties in April after being out of sight for months with their children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. He was seen visiting a food charity and youth center.
