The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 coronation night was a time of after-hours beauty queen goodness, women empowerment, and memes. Of course, it’s a must for fans to scroll through funny reactions on social media to get through the night. The pageant started in July and ended in August after all.

As we welcome the new set of Binibinis, take a look at what netizens have to say about the three-hour pageant.

‘Best in National Earrings’

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was one of the night's standouts, thanks to her dramatic Pintados-inspired earrings designed by the beauty queen and Mjorian Jewelry.

Even comedian-host Vice Ganda took to social media to marvel over Gray’s extravagant earrings.

Joshua Garcia’s eyebrow-raising question

Netizens can’t help but poke fun at Joshua Garcia’s question to Bb. Pilipinas 2022 2nd Runner-Up Stacey Gabriel at the Q&A portion: “How do you distinguish a historian from a Marites?”

Of course, many were quick to relate it to the controversial “History is like tsismis” remark of Maid in Malacañang star Ella Cruz on social media.

The ‘7/11 Tiktok issue’ energy

Netizens also poked fun at Bb. Pilipinas candidate Yllana Aduana who accidentally bumped a contestant as she claimed her Face of Binibini special award.

Many noted that the encounter is somewhat similar to the viral 7/11 video on Tiktok, wherein a shopper unmindfully interfered with what the video uploader was about to do and seemingly ruined her vibe.

Pageant or zoom call?

Netizens also reacted to Slay Model Management’s founder and director, Cecilio Asuncion, who was caught seemingly wearing his undergarments during the pageant’s coronation night.

Turns out, the “boxers” are custom-made shorts created by Filipino designer Avel Bacudio paired with knee-high socks and Dr. Martens leather boots.

“One judge forgot to wear his pants,” a netizen wrote on Facebook.

Another netizen said, “Work from home judge! Ems.”

Chelsea Fernandez or Maine Mendoza?

Pageant fans can’t help but notice the resemblance of Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2022 Chelsea Fernandez to actress-host Maine Mendoza.

The best of the pageant community’s wit

Of course, the Bb. Pilipinas 2022 coronation night displayed the best of what the Filipino pageant community has to offer in terms of wit from start to finish.
