‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ producers request fans to stop visiting the houses featured in K-drama
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is one of the most popular series in K-drama land today. So, it’s no surprise that its actors, costumes, and filming locations have also caught the attention of fans.
While some of the filming locations in Pohang, South Korea are available for public viewing, the production team requested fans to refrain from visiting the characters’ houses since they were only rented for a period of time.
In a statement translated by Soompi, the K-drama’s producers clarified that the featured houses have actual people living in them. “Hyejin, Dusik, Gamri, and Chohee’s houses in the drama are spaces that we leased for filming purposes for the duration of our shoot, and at the moment, their owners are currently residing in those homes.”
“They helped our drama out with good intentions, but they are currently suffering disturbances to their everyday lives because of visitors,” the producers explained. “For the reason described above, when you visit our filming location, we ask that you refrain from entering these houses.”
The K-drama’s production team also suggested fans to visit other filming locations instead and to “respect” the owners.
“Out of consideration for people who want to experience the afterglow of the drama, the city of Pohang will be keeping the squid statue at Cheongha Market and the boat at Sabang Memorial Park even after the end of filming,” the producers added.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, based on the 2004 film Mr. Hong, tells the story of a seaside town’s jack-of-all-trades who falls in love with a big-city dentist. The series also sheds light on the lives of the people living in the neighborhood. It stars Shin Minah and Kim Seonho.
Even if the K-drama is set in Gongjin village in Gangwon, Province, it’s actually filmed in the village of Cheongha in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province.
