After three years since the second season of One-Punch Man, Saitama is punching back into television screens for a third season.

The official Twitter account of the anime posted a teaser visual of the upcoming season, which shows everyone's favorite bald and overpowered superhero standing alongside villain and self-proclaimed "Hero Hunter" Garou.

"This time, we will start the production of the long-awaited sequel of the animation 'One-Punch Man' 3rd season," the translated article in the anime's official website read.

The visual was drawn by Chikashi Kubota, who was in charge of the character designs for the first and second seasons of the anime. Other than Kubota, no further information regarding the studio, the creative team, and release date has been revealed.

The first season of One-Punch Man was produced by Studio Madhouse and was released in 2015. It garnered immense popularity because of its fluid animation as well as its humorous and charming protagonist, which resulted in Saitama becoming a hit meme. A second season followed afterward in 2019, this time produced by J.C. Staff.

Created by Japanese manga artist ONE, One-Punch Man was originally a webtoon before it was remade into a manga, written by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata.

The story centers on Saitama, an ordinary man who became a superhero after doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and 10-kilometer run every day. This backfired, however, as his training left him so overpowered that he can defeat all of his enemies with a single punch.

Saitama has now made it his goal to find a powerful enemy that could give him the challenge of his life and reignite the fire in him that was put out by his flawless battle record.
