LOOK: Eraserheads fan makes art out of the band’s songs, gets noticed by Ely Buendia

Netizen Mark John Marte received an early Christmas present when Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia shared his artworks on his own Facebook page.

“Maagang pamasko! Napansin ako ng idolo ko Ely Buendia of Eheads mga kaibigan," he wrote in the comments section of his now viral Facebook post.

Since he’s a full-time teacher, it took Marte about three months to reach his target number of artworks for the set, which was inspired by the OPM band’s songs such as With A Smile, ‘Wag Kang Matakot, Pare Ko, Overdrive, Ligaya, Spoliarium, among others. He spent his much-needed breaks from checking papers and recording grades on his passion for art.

Showing a video of his creative process on his Ang Huling El Bimbo masterpiece, he played around with a myriad of drawing techniques and sketching styles using a pencil, pentel pen, and a felt-tipped size 07 pen with rich pigment ink.

As of this writing, the artwork set has nearly 4,000 shares, 1,500 likes, and 52 comments.
