The much awaited star-studded remake of the 1984 science fiction film Dune drops new posters highlighting the film’s ensemble.

The adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name has been through a lot this past year with numerous postponements and setbacks, but it seems like Dune is truly set to be released this October.

Warner Bros. finally revealed close up shots for the individual posters for each character. Timothée Chalamet looks brooding as he takes the center stage as Paul Atreides. He is joined by Rebecca Ferguson who plays Lady Jessica, Paul’s mother; Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides; Jason Momoa as the handsome Duncan Idaho; Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck; Zendaya as a blue-eyed Chani; Javier Bardem as Stilgar; and Stellan Skarsgård as The Baron.

Some of the other character posters have yet to be revealed such as Dave Bautista as Glossu Raban and Chang Chen as Dr. Wellington Yueh, among others.

Dune was originally slated for a November 20, 2020 release, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed to December 18, 2020. Once again, the film was delayed and moved to October 1, 2021 to avoid competition with another film. Recently it was announced that Dune was once again pushed back to a later date, this time on October 22. The film is set to be released on HBO Max for a month and in theaters simultaneously.

Dune is directed, produced and written by Dennis Villenueve and is the latest adaptation of Herbert’s novel. Cale Boyter, Joe Caracciolo Jr., and Mary Parent joins Villenueve as producers, with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth as screenwriters.

Dune is the first of a two-part movie and will focus on the first half of the novel and tells the story of Paul Atreides as his father, Lord Leto, accepts stewardship of a dangerous planet called Arrakis—also known as Dune. It is a place where the most valuable substance in the universe is, the “melange” or spice.
