'I'm in a DC movie!': Inka Magnaye to voice the Scarab in Philippine release of 'Blue Beetle'

Another Filipino talent is making waves on the international scene!

Content creator Inka Magnaye has been announced as one of the voice talents in the Philippine release of Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming film, Blue Beetle. She is set to voice the Scarab—an "ancient alien relic pivotal to the titular DC Super Hero's story"—who was originally voiced by singer-actress Becky G

The 34-year-old excitedly shared the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and said it's a dream come true.

"I'm in a DC movie!" she wrote. "It’s been one of my big dreams to be a canon part of a superhero world, and now I get to share this wonderful news with all of you!"

Blue Beetle is an upcoming superhero film from the DC Extended Universe. It follows the story of college graduate Jaime Reyes (played by Cobra Kai breakout star Xolo Maridueña) who returns home filled with aspirations for his future, only to find that it's not quite as he left it.

While searching for his life purpose, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When Jaime gets chosen to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero Blue Beetle. 

Blue Beetle will open exclusively in Philippine cinemas on Aug. 16. Watch the trailer below.
