Living pop legend Madonna is looking for the perfect Material Girl to fill in her shoes for her forthcoming biopic.

In her Instagram post on Feb. 16, the 63-year-old pop icon shared a clip of herself dancing in a rehearsal room with her band in view and her 1983 hit Burning Up playing in the background.

The caption to the video read: “Auditions for my film are a Surreal experience. But I’m enjoying Dancing to the Classics!! #burningup”

Uncut Gems star Julia Fox is rumored to be in the cast as Madonna posted Instagram photos of her and Fox on Jan. 14 with the caption, “Went to dinner with Julia to talk about my movie and some other folks showed up.” The photos also show the pair hanging out with Kanye West, Floyd Mayweather, and a few others.

Apart from Fox, Madonna has also named English actress Florence Pugh as a potential cast member.

Word on Madonna’s biographical film first came out in September 2020 when she first revealed that she is co-directing and co-writing the film together with Academy Award-winning writer Diablo Cody (Juno and Jennifer’s Body).

In October last year, the Queen of Pop shared news through Instagram that the script has nearly wrapped up, also using the hashtag #erincressidawilson in her caption in allusion to playwright Erin Cressida Wilson joining the film’s writing team.

“Grateful for the success of Madame, that my script is almost finished, and for the support of my beautiful children! While laying on this gorgeous Rug by Alexander McQueen! #erincressidawilson,” Madonna wrote.

The pop singer-songwriter opened up on Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians with Maluma that preparing the script was “the most draining, challenging experience I’ve ever had.”

Madonna told the Colombian singer: “It’s kind of like psychotherapy in a way, because I have to remember every detail from my childhood till now.”

The Like a Prayer singer’s self-directed biopic is yet to be named.
