Woman calls authorities over ‘creature’ in trees, turns out to be a croissant
Picture this: you see a mysteriously shaped creature hanging in a tree near your home, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. It never moves, yet it’s menacing enough that you call animal welfare to take care of the poor guy. A few moments later, they tell you it’s a croissant.
This is exactly what happened in the small town of Krakow in Poland, as the Krakow Society for the Protection of Animals shared the hilarious incident on Facebook.
In the post, inspectors shared that they were hastily called by a woman who was concerned that there was a “sick prey bird” who keeled over a tree near her home. When the authorities arrived, it turns out that it wasn’t anything baked in the sunlight after all.
“His brown skin will shine in the sun, although there is some sort of collapse anywhere. We are looking more closely - poor guy has no legs or head,” the inspectors shared.
“This mysterious lagoon - legwan turned out to be... croissant, a French cake croissant. Probably flew out of a window and the poor guy got stuck in the fork of lilac twigs.”
They hypothesized that it must have been innocently thrown by a neighbor for bird-feeding. Why a full-sized croissant, they couldn't answer.
Despite the hilarious story, the welfare maintains that the incident wasn’t half-baked. The post has since gone viral, with the welfare adding a call for donations to support their group - guess they still need to get that bread.
