TikTok roundup: What’s hot on our FYP this week

Published May 21, 2021 7:06 pm

Still don’t have a TikTok? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Welcome to the weekly TikTok roundup! If you’re not part of the app’s growing scene, we rounded up some of the best finds for your personal FYP (for your page) this week. And no, it’s not just dancing or lip-syncing.

#Eggcitingdishes challenge

Growing tired of the usual sunny side-up eggs? This TikTok challenge/tutorial series is for those that want to make special meals out of the surprisingly versatile ingredient. Whether you're raring to make sweet treats or a Japanese-inspired dish, this hashtag is for you!

School of Rock turned School of Love

There's something endearing about seeing child stars reunite years after their project, but it's especially heartwarming (and exciting) when they've actually reconnected and started a relationship. TikTok @marfymae couldn't hide her excitement when she found out that two stars from the 2003 Jack Black film actually ended up together.

Apparently, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, who played classmates Marta and Frankie in School of Rock, have been happily married since 2018. Talk about a classroom love affair.

From TV to table meals

Most movie meals are too good to be true, but TikTok Gabrielle Williams (@gabby.jaye) brings the most delectable fictional meals to life with her cooking skills.

She's since recreated unforgettable Disney dishes such as Ratatouille's signature dish, Princess Diaries' toothache-inducing ice cream, and Princess and the Frog's chicken gumbo, among others.

Taking pettiness to a whole new level

Some of us would do anything to get over an ex—and for TikToker Kassie Yeung (@kassieyeung), that includes booking a flight and traveling all the way to Seoul, Korea with wire cutters to break a love lock promise.

Yeung's 30-second clip showcases her trip from airport, to hardware store, to a cable car going to Korea's N Seoul Tower in hopes of searching for her and her ex's promise love lock that they left back in 2019. She eventually finds the coveted lock and does the deed of removing its hold.

"I'm one petty MF idc what anyone says," she had captioned. Hey, the girl's got dedication.
