'Eurovision' goes to Asia: Jason Dy, Carmelle Collado among those competing for PH slot
Europe’s iconic, glitter-filled Eurovision Song Contest spectacle is coming to life right here in Asia!
Ten Filipino artists are vying for the Philippines' spot in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, which is set to take place in Thailand this November.
Leading the lineup is R&B crooner Jason Dy, teaming up with Sassa Dagdag for the track Di ‘Yan (Red Flag), written by Jason Marvin Hernandez. Pinoy Big Brother alum Carmelle Collado will sing Sobra-Sobra, penned by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides.
The rest of the lineup includes AJAA with Make It Exist, composed by Angelo Calucin; Ryssi Avila with Good For You, written by Hazel Faith; SAGA with Broken Beyond Repair, written by Angelo Gonzales; and Vvink and WRIVE Russu with Round N’ Round, composed by Julius James de Belen and John Michael Conchada.
The competition gets even bigger with theatrical talent Nar Cabico joining forces with vocal powerhouses Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, and Lance Reblando on Cheri(e).
Also vying for the spot are DNA with Between Bituin, written by Jungee Marcelo; KHIMO with Reason to Leave, written by Stephen Tan; and JM dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano with Mapadama, composed by Marcelo and Jeremy Glinoga.

Fans can tune in on Aug. 30 as Vice Ganda hosts the Philippine Selection Night, where the winner will be decided through 40% jury votes, 40% local votes, and 20% Rest of the World votes.
The ultimate Pinoy winner will head to Bangkok on Nov. 14 to wave the Philippine flag for the very first time. There, they’ll face off against confirmed regional rivals like Malaysia’s powerhouse Aina Abdul and Bhutan’s Nyendra, along with representatives yet to be named from Korea, Nepal, Laos, and host nation Thailand.
Fans worldwide can watch the contest and National Selection Shows on the official Eurovision YouTube channel, alongside participating broadcasters’ channels. Each National Selection will also feature a “Rest of the World” vote, which will give international fans a chance to help decide which entries advance to Bangkok.
