The official trailer for Dune just dropped and it looks epic! Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures finally released the 3-minute trailer of the movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 classic science fiction novel starring Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet.

Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born to a destiny beyond his understanding. He must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As evil forces battle over the planet’s most precious resource in existence – a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential – and only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Viewers get a glimpse of the desert world Arrakis (reportedly filmed on location in Hungary and Jordan) and the colossal sandworms that inhabit it.

The star-studded cast includes Timothée Chalamet as main protagonist Paul Atreides, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, Zendaya as Chani, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as swordmaster Gurney Halleck, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica and Dave Bautista as the Baron’s nephew Rabban.

Dune is one of the most anticipated films expected to come out this year and based on the trailer and views alone, it looks like it’s going to be an  emotionally charged journey.

Dune, directed by Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve who previously helmed sci fi hits Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, is the first of two parts that will be released.

The film is currently slated for release in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2020 with a possible January 2021 release in the Philippines.
