Disney star Raven-Symoné announces death of younger brother after colon cancer battle
Disney star Raven-Symoné said her younger brother has died after a two-year battle with colon cancer. He was 31.
On Instagram, Raven shared a selfie video thanking her followers for greeting her a happy birthday last Dec. 10. She, however, noted that it was “bittersweet” because Blaize Pearman died ahead of her special day.
“Last mont,h I lost my brother, Blaize," she said. "He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now."
"He's loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family, have been a roller coaster,” she added.
Blaize would’ve also celebrated his birthday on Dec. 16, according to Raven.
"I love you, Blaize,” she said, as she thanked her family and friends for being an “amazing support system.”
Raven began her career as a child star, appearing on The Cosby Show and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. Her break came when she starred in the Disney sitcom That’s So Raven.
She also starred in The Cheetah Girls, For One Night, and Revenge of the Bridesmaids.
She’s also a singer, with studio albums including Here’s to New Dreams, Undeniable, This is My Time, and Raven-Symoné.
