‘Squid Game’ actress Jung Ho-yeon jumps from 400,000 to 10 million Instagram followers in two weeks
With Netflix's thriller series Squid Game on its way to becoming the streaming site's biggest show to date, it's undoubtedly become a major stepping stone for its South Korean creators and stars—and one such example is actress Jung Ho-yeon.
The 27-year-old actress has turned heads and garnered a literal following since her appearance on the show as Player 067. The nine-episode series sees Jung as a young participant who joins the deadly games only to reunite her family.
Since her appearance on the show, the star has gained a whopping 9.6 million followers on Instagram. Per Korean entertainment site AllKpop, Ho-yeon only had 400,000 Instagram followers before Squid Games dropped on Sept. 17. Since then, she's been accumulating almost 1 million followers each day.
With her cool and collected acting throughout the series, it may come as a surprise to know that she is actually a working model that's been dubbed as one of the "Top 50" fashion models by models.com.
She's also been featured in a number of print editorials in Vogue Korea, Harper Bazaar Korea, Dazed & Confused Korea, and more.
