Gaming meets music: Manila Symphony Orchestra's 'Video Games Symphonic' is back

Want to take your art appreciation to the next level? The Manila Symphony Orchestra is bringing back ‘Video Games Symphonic’ at the Ayala Museum!

Over three years since the Manila Symphony Orchestra last performed the in-demand concert theme,' Video Games Symphonic’ takes classic video game soundtracks and turns them into orchestral performances.

Patrons can expect to hear the classical renditions of iconic video games tunes such as Final Fantasy, Assassin’s Creed, Monster Hunter, Super Mario, and more.

The initiative is part of this year’s line-up of Rush Hour Concerts at Ayala Museum and will be held this coming Thursday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Those unable to attend the symphony concert in person due to sold-out tickets may still enjoy the concert wherever they are through Zoom. Ayala Museum is also offering virtual access tickets for viewers at P550.

Onsite viewing will also have limited seating. Onsite patrons must be fully vaccinated and will be required to follow the museum’s safety protocols.

Tickets are being sold for P750 for screen view and P1,350 for onsite orchestra view. You can grab your tickets here

This isn't the first time that Ayala Museum is celebrating the retro video game culture in contemporary ways. Back in 2021, Ayala Museum also introduced virtual tours, where people could travel around the Philippines in a game-like format while museums were closed due to the pandemic.

The interactive tour held on the social platform Gather.Town tour, styled Philippine destinations as old-fashioned computer games from the 1980s, with the same look as 8-bit RPGs like The Legend of Zelda and early Final Fantasy games. But instead of exploring the map as a single player, users could interact with other people and multimedia objects in real-time.

Ayala Museum is located in Greenbelt Park, Makati Avenue, corner Dela Rosa Street, Ayala Center, Makati. Follow their Facebook and Instagram pages for further updates.
