Can't get enough of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates? Netflix is taking fans back to the Grand Line with a brand-new remake of the beloved anime series.

On June 24, the streaming service launched the teaser of The One Piece, the newest adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s bestselling manga, providing a sneak peek at the fresh new looks for Luffy, his mentor Shanks, the Straw Hat crew, and other memorable characters.

The series is produced by WIT Studio, known for beloved anime series Spy x Family and Attack on Titan, in collaboration with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network, and Toei Animation.

According to Netflix's Tudum, the The One Piece makes use of "cutting-edge technology to provide a fresh take on Luffy’s grand adventures."

Director Masashi Koizuka explained the new art style and direction of the new animated series, "As we put together all our rough sketches, we tried to adapt his thought process to our own take on the ONE PIECE characters. We reimagined the overall visuals, color scheme, and even the set designs.”

Koizuka added that his team added an extra touch on the ocean's look, saying, “The oceans as Luffy sees them are literally uncharted waters full of surprises and excitement. We wanted to bring that awe and scale to life, and we focused on that as we created our design aesthetic. We spent quite a lot of time putting it together, as we brainstormed ideas and collaborated with our 3D team.”

Season 1 of the anime consists of seven episodes and will cover the first 50 chapters of the manga's East Blue Saga.
