An Egyptian YouTuber named Umm Ziyad has reportedly died exactly a year after she posted a prank pretending to be dead.

Through her now-deleted channel “Diary of Umm Ziyad,” the vlogger released the death prank video on April 9, 2020. This year on April 9, 2021, news broke that she had passed away.

The now-deleted video has been uploaded by another channel, where it shows the mother of two pretending to choke during a mukbang video, where vloggers film themselves eating a huge amount of food for their fans.

In the 13-minute video, Ziyad pretends to choke as her husband panics and her sons cry on her lap. After a few minutes of being unconscious, she awakens and reveals the prank, one that her husband didn’t seem to be too happy about.

On April 9 this year, she apparently died from a lack of oxygen due to a gas leak. She is survived by her two sons and husband.

Ziyad’s regularly vlogged about her family and daily happenings. Her channel had almost 700,000 subscribers.
