Attention, horror fans! Biringan is coming to theaters soon.

Creative production company Mentorque Productions, the team behind Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry Mallari, recently announced that a movie about the urban legend surrounding Biringan is in the works.

The upcoming movie will bring the audience to the “invisible” city of Biringan, which is believed “to exist in the realms between the physical and the spiritual.”

Its producer, John Bryan Diamante said that this movie will be their attempt to “transcend the boundaries of traditional filmmaking.”

“We're delving deep into the heart of Philippine folklore to present a story that’s both universally appealing and deeply personal. It's about exploring unknown worlds, but it's also about the discovery of the self and the power of unseen forces that shape our lives,” he added.

Mentorque's previous film, Mallari told the story of the Philippines’ first recorded serial killer, Filipino priest Juan Severino Mallari who killed 57 people. It gained success at the 2023 MMFF and bagged four awards, including Best Musical Score and Best Visual Effects.
