Shortly after making history from earning 1 million pre-orders of their debut full-length The Album, Blackpink is at it again with another feat. On Oct. 11, the all-girl K-pop group debuted on the second-highest spot on the Billboard 200.

This makes them the chart's highest-ranking Korean group of all time. While The Album, is now the highest-charting album by any female group since Danity Kane topped the charts in 2008 with her second album Welcome to the Dollhouse.

The Album is also the highest-ranking debut album by an all-female group since Danity Kane’s self-titled effort opened at No. 1 on Sept. 9, 2006.

The Album snagged the Billboard's no. 2 spot for selling 110,000 equivalent albums since it launched on October 2, up until October 8. 81,000 were from traditional album sales, 26,000 from streaming equivalent album units, and 2,000 from track equivalent album units.

Blackpink previously placed their two songs Kill This Love at no. 24 in 2019, and Square Up at no. 40 in 2018.

The South Korean quartet has been taking the world by storm as The Album also entered the UK Albums Chart at no. 2 on October 9. They now rank higher than any Asian girl group on the chart by far.

The Album climbed far higher than their 2019 song Kill This Love, which bagged the no. 40 spot on the chart in the same year.

Blackpink began promoting The Album as early as July with the release of their song How You Like That. It was followed by two other hits, namely Ice Cream, in collaboration with Selena Gomez, and Lovesick Girls produced with French DJ David Guetta.
