Are you ready for the real-life Squid Games to begin in November?

Netflix has released the official teaser of their upcoming reality competition that is based on the highly successful dystopian Korean drama Squid Game which premiered in 2021.

The trailer starts off with a menacing feel as the "Red Light, Green Light" song that was played during the very first game in the series is heard before a masked man announces, "Attention players, you will now compete for our biggest cash prize in reality show history."

The trailer then cuts to the participants competing in the games in order to take home the $4.56 million (P248 million) cash prize. Based from what was shown, the contestants seem to be facing the same games from the series, such as Red Light, Green Light and the glass bridge.

The 10-episode special filmed in the United Kingdom garnered controversy in recent months, however, as a report from Variety alleged that contestants who have decided to participate in the reality show have been subjected to "inhumane" conditions.

The original Squid Game series centers on a divorced father who is forced to participate in a set of deadly games to pay off his debts along with 455 other players who are all in deep financial trouble. He must now determine who he can trust and ally with them to try to survive the games' physical and psychological twists.

Squid Game: The Challenge will premiere on Nov. 22 this year.
