LOOK: Kathryn Newton celebrates birthday with Liza Soberano
What a blooming friendship!
Lisa Frankenstein co-stars Kathryn Newton and Liza Soberano spent the whole day at Universal Studios Hollywood to celebrate the former's 27th birthday.
In an Instagram post, Liza shared glimpses of their exploration at the theme park, including photos of them wearing their Super Mario hats and matching Lisa Frankenstein bomber jackets in front of the Frankenstein Parking.
"Spent the whole day yesterday with this one. Happy birthday @kathrynnewton," the careless music artist said while inviting her followers to watch their movie.
"BTW, @lisafrankensteinfilm is out today so please make the birthday girl happy and watch our movie."
In response, Kathryn showed appreciation to Liza in the comment section.
"Couldn't love you more! So grateful for our friendship," she wrote.
Premiered in the Philippines on Feb. 7, Lisa Frankenstein is a coming-of-age love story that follows a misunderstood teenager as she reanimates a handsome corpse, who also happens to be her high school crush. The sudden, strange circumstance leads them to embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, "and a few missing body parts along the way."
In her first Hollywood film, Liza plays the role of Taffy, a cheerleader with a soft spot for her socially awkward stepsister Lisa Swallows, played by Kathryn.
The film marks the directorial debut of Zelda WIlliams, the daughter of the late Robin WIlliams. It was written by Diablo Cody, who also wrote the dark comedy film Jennifer's Body.
