Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam has finally come to life to change the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe.

After over a decade of development, fans finally got a first look at the upcoming superhero feature film starring Johnson as the DC Comics anti-hero and nemesis of Shazam!

Johnson himself unveiled some behind-the-scenes footage and movie clip for Black Adam at the start of the DC FanDome virtual fan event on Saturday (Oct. 16). The Rock also shared the world exclusive first look across his social media accounts, which received over eight million views in its first 24 hours.

Along with Johnson’s character, Black Adam also introduces members of the Justice Society. The film also stars Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, who can fly thanks to his special metal wings; Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, who can control his molecules and change his size, density, and strength; Quintessa Swindell (Netflix's Trinkets) as Cyclone, who can control the wind; and James Bond himself Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, an archeologist who becomes a powerful sorcerer while wearing the Helmet of Fate.

“This film, this universe has been a gigantic passion project of mine for a very long time,” said Johnson before introducing the first look at the film. “The film has without question some of the biggest action sequences I have ever been a part of.”

The Rock was quick to thank fans for their support after the virtual event on social media, saying the footage was just a taste of what's to come next summer.
