"Hindi ka na makakatakas dito."

A new teaser for Mikhail Red's techno-horror film Deleter has been released—and we're about to see Nadine Lustre in a brand new light once again.

Helmed by the acclaimed Birdshot and Eerie director, the film follows online content moderator Lyra (Lustre) after she witnesses the suicide video of one of her workmates. In the trailer, Lyra can be seen being questioned by authorities if she saw anything suspicious before her friend's death.

Lyra says that she can't help the police, although it's clear that she is being haunted by a mysterious presence as she navigates the desensitized and dreary life of someone who watches disturbing content for a living.

"Alam mo minsan yung trabaho natin nakakabaliw talaga eh," the voice of her former workmate is heard saying.

The teaser then proceeds to spook fans with scenes of what Lyra witnesses in her work and psyche, from kidnappings to looming figures apparently watching her every move.

In promotional images for the film, Lustre's character mirrors the troubled image of someone hiding a secret—or perhaps a burden to carry.

Deleter is Lustre's second movie with Viva Films since she returned to the agency in 2021 after taking a break to focus on music. Her comeback film was with Yam Lanares' Greed back in March opposite Diego Loyzaga.

The Gawad Urian awardee has also shared that she's interested in pursuing darker roles in her acting career: "Gusto ko kasi 'yung nacha-challenge ako. Ayoko ng parang madali lang. Kasi 'yung growth comes out when you’re challenged, growth comes out when you’re out of your comfort zone."

Lustre is joined by Louise Delos Reyes, McCoy De Leon, and Jeffrey Hidalgo in Deleter. You can watch the teaser here:
