MNL48 is set to conclude its group activities by the end of May.

Entertainment company P.O.S. Inc. made the announcement in a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 20.

"After extensive discussions with all relevant parties, P.O.S Inc. has made the difficult decision to conclude MNL48's activities as of the end of May 2026," its statement read.

The company said a myriad of factors led to the difficult decision, which include management structure and operating environment, among others.

"As management, we have done our utmost to carry MNL48 forward in the best possible way. We deeply apologize for not being able to fully meet everyone's expectations in the end," it added.

It also announced that the Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie music video on YouTube will be their final work as a group.

In December 2025, MNL48 announced a name change to both its group and operating company name.

"To all the fans who have continuously supported MNL48, to every member who has been part of this journey, and to everyone involved with the group, we extend our deepest gratitude," the company concluded, apologizing for the sudden announcement.

Comprising 25 members, MNL48 is a sister group of AKB48, which was founded in 2006. The pioneering group also inspired other sister groups, including BNK48 and JKT48.

The group was formed through a talent search that aired on It's Showtime in 2018.

They made a major comeback in April during the MNL48: Reboot and Rise mini festival, and recently bagged the P-Pop Spotlight Award at the 10th PPOP Music Awards.

Their songs include Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie, Ikaw ang Melody, Talulot ng Sakura, and Palusot Ko'y Maybe.
