Walt Disney Studios is on the hunt for a Filipina lola and for many netizens, the spotlight points to TikTok star Mama Lulu.

In December last year, Walt Disney Studios opened a casting call for the role of a grandmother in an upcoming movie to be filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates are not required to have acting experience but must be Filipino or Filipino-American, aged 50 to 90 years old, and authorized to work in the United States.

Netizens find Mama Lulu to be the perfect fit for the role because, since 2019, the California-based Pinay mom and her son Olly have been charming people with extremely entertaining videos of their funny and relatable relationship.

One of which is this TikTok video Olly titled “Asking my mom stupid question throughout the day part 3.” Here, Olly is heard asking, “Mom, if the pizza is round, then how come the box is square?”

Mama Lulu replied, “If you have a brain, why isn’t it working? Eedjiot! Tarant*do! Return your degree!”

Aside from that, Mama Lulu is eager to know more about today's hottest celebrities, as seen in this hilarious video where Olly asked her to identify the stars in the photos.

And she is a full-fledged ARMY!

Netizens can tell that Mama Lulu would give enjoyable entertainment on the big screen, like how she did in this video where Olly pranked her that she’s engaged to a butcher “down the Mexican store.”

Mama Lulu and her family lived in Makati before they moved to the Bay Area in California 20 years ago, according to a report.

As for Disney’s casting call, the global entertainment company requires applicants to “speak English fluently and be comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta” in mid-February.

Deadline for application is on Jan. 31 on the Project Casting’s website.

Rumor has it that the lola Disney is looking for will be the grandmother of Spiderman’s best friend and secret identity keeper, Ned Leeds.

According to Disney’s theme park and movie news portal Chip & Co., Leeds is expected to play a larger role in Spider-Man 3 and even get an appearance by his relatives.

Jacob Battalion being half-Filipino himself is a heavy indicator that the new character will likely be his grandmother.

Not only that, Spider-Man 3 is set to film in Atlanta, where the character will also be shooting her film.
