Five years ago, after it took the gaming community by storm with its release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Kerbal Space Program is finally landing on the newest generation of consoles with an Enhanced Edition this year.

Kerbal Space Program is a physics-based, space flight simulator video game developed by Squad and published by Private Division for Microsoft, Linux, MacOS, PS4, and Xbox One.

Squad and Private Division recently announced that Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition is making its leap towards PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a lot of new features: mouse and keyboard support and more stable gameplay among others.

Players with an existing Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition on their PS4 and Xbox One can upgrade their game on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S free of charge.

A specific date has yet to be announced, but according to Kerbal Space Program’s forum post, the Enhanced Edition will drop on digital stores this fall, which is around September or November of this year.

Last June 24, Kerbal Space Program celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a video in honor of their milestone.

In addition to the upgraded, enhanced version for the new generation of consoles, Squad and Private Division also revealed that the sequel for the beloved space simulator game is on the way and will be available in stores by 2022.
