The first set images for Voltes V: Legacy were shared on social media tonight, fueling the hype for the highly anticipated live-action TV series.

Occupying an area roughly the size of two to four basketball courts, the multiple sets for Legacy  took around a year to build, according to a report on gmanetwork.com.

"When we saw it, even (we) were shocked," shared director Mark Reyes in an interview with 24 Oras.

The images were released tonight across Legacy's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts and featured one of the sets, the interior of the Boazanian Skull ship, where Prince Zardoz plans the downfall of Earth.

Other sets include the one for Camp Big Falcon, and the underground base.

"There are separate studios. The one for the Skull Ship—its size is around two basketball courts," Reyes explained in a mix of Filipino and English.

"The size of the Camp Big Falcon (set) would be three to four basketball courts. That's how big the set is. Massive," he continued.

As for when Voltes V: Legacy would finally show on Philippine television, fans may be disappointed to know that it's likely we won't be seeing it this year.

"We could have moved things faster but the pandemic hit," the director lamented. "Don't expect this to be ready this year because this is something big, and if you really want it good, just the CGI work alone will take a while."

The cast of Voltes V: Legacy include Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as "Big" Bert Armstrong, and Raphael Landicho bilang "Little" Jon Armstrong. Martin Del Rosario and Liezel Lopez are playing the villains Prince Zardoz and Zandra, respectively.

Other cast members include Epy Quizon as Zuhl, Carlo Gonzalez as Draco, Neil Ryan Sese as Dr. Hook, and Gabby Eigenmann as Commander Robinson.
