Good news, Pinoy horror fans: 'True Philippine Ghost Stories' marks comeback with call for entries

Cult classic horror book series True Philippine Ghost Stories is staging a comeback after over a decade.

Publisher PSICOM Publishing Inc. on May 15 announced a call for submissions for the return of the popular series.

"Seize the opportunity to contribute to the relaunch of the bestselling book series, and leave your mark on its extraordinary comeback," PSICOM said.

Guidelines state that submissions should follow the theme "True Philippine Ghost Stories."

The story should be between 800 and 2,000 words, whether in English, Filipino, or Taglish. It shouldn't have also been published anywhere, whether in part or in full.

Entries must be sent to [email protected]. Deadline for submissions is on June 30.

A fixture in the aughts, True Philippine Ghost Stories depict horror tales and urban legends in the country. Photos and illustrations complement the entries.

While "true" can be contentious, the series has gained legions of followers—and scared generations of readers—over the years.

The books' entries served as source material for GMA Network's 2004 to 2006 show 'Wag Kukurap hosted by Dingdong Dantes.

PSICOM's catalog includes humor books, cookbooks, comics, novels, romance, and chick-lit.
