WATCH: 'Deadpool & Wolverine' are enemies turned allies in newest trailer

Comic book icons Deadpool and Wolverine show an unlikely and chaotic partnership in the newest trailer of their superhero film.

Marvel Studios has dropped a new preview of Deadpool & Wolverine, which may have fans of Hugh Jackman's character squealing in excitement as he is seen wearing the comics-accurate Wolverine outfit for the first time.

The clip starts with Wolverine drinking at a bar by his lonesome before being approached by Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, who forcefully tries to get him to come with him.

After a tense confrontation where Deadpool reminds Wolverine about how his "world" fell apart, the two are shown engaging in a fierce battle, which includes an almost hilarious scene of the mutant piercing Deadpool's crotch with his claws.

Despite their initial hostility towards each other, the pair eventually learn to work together to defeat their adversaries in, as Deadpool puts it, big slow-motion action sequences.

Deadpool & Wolverine serves as the third installment in the series of films featuring the wisecracking mercenary after its 2016 and 2018 predecessors.

This time, the story follows an organization called the Time Variance Authority pulling Deadpool from his quiet life and setting him on a mission that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alongside Wolverine.

The film is the series’ first entry in the MCU. Rival studio 20th Century Fox was the original producer and distributor of the Deadpool and X-Men movies before Disney, Marvel’s parent company, purchased 20th Century Fox and the rights to the characters.

It also serves as the return of Jackman as Wolverine after 2017's Logan, which is the final installment in the Wolverine series of films.

Apart from Reynolds and Jackman, the upcoming Deadpool film also stars Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Stefan Kapičić.

It will hit US theaters on July 26.
