She's back: Adele goes hard on emotional comeback single 'Easy On Me'
She did not go easy on us.
Adele has released her first song in six years with Easy On Me, a slow ballad that chronicles the artist asking for tenderness after choosing to heal from a big mistake.
“Didn't get the chance to / Feel the world around me / I had no time to choose what I chose to do / So go easy on me,” the 33-year-old croons amid the piano-led ballad.
“I had good intentions / And the highest hopes / But I know right now / It probably doesn't even show,” she continues on the song’s bridge with her signature vocal prowess.
The song’s accompanying music video showcases Adele in a similar house to her 2015 Hello music video, as the black and white clip eventually transitions into color as she continues to belt out into song.
It has over 10 million views as of writing and ranks #10 on YouTube’s Music category.
"I've painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it,” Adele shared in an Instagram post announcing her comeback, as she went through a divorce through its process.
Her fourth album, “30,” is set to drop on Nov. 19.
