Start-Up is a K-drama that gave us timely career advice, heart-fluttering chemistry between the lead characters, and of course, Kim Seonho.

After playing the role of Han Jipyeong, Seonho might be K-drama land’s favorite second lead character. And who wouldn’t be? With his cute smile and charming personality, he’s sure to sweep any girl off her feet.

But before Seonho experienced superstardom, he opened up in an interview with W Korea via Korean entertainment platform Soompi that holding a script made him nervous as a child.

“Just having a script in my hand made me nervous, as if that alone made me amount to something. I never had any thought of wanting to succeed or make lots of money,” Seonho shared.

The actor also admitted that growing up in a less fortunate family initially gave him second thoughts about having dreams for the future.

“When I first started acting, my parents told me this. They said that since they were so poor, they were unable to dream, but that I should live my life while dreaming,” Seonho added.

Seonho experienced a surge in popularity since the release of Start-Up in 2020. As a result, he has become the face of various brands across Asia and released a song for his fans.

The actor is currently filming for Seaside Village Cha Cha Cha which will be released in the second half of 2021.
