‘Totally Spies!’ live-action TV series is in the works
Can’t get enough of the cool and fabulous adventures of your favorite spy trio? Totally Spies! is now currently in the development for a live-action TV series at Amazon.
The classic French cartoon will follow the story of the iconic fashionista trio Alex, Clover, and Sam as international secret agents while dealing with their life as college freshmen, as per a report from Variety
The project is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Banijay Kids & Family. Actor-producer Will Ferrell will serve as the series’ executive producer, alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor under their Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Meanwhile, Benoît Di Sabatino, CEO of Banijay Kids & Family will be the executive producer for the studio.
More details, including the cast, writer, and the detailed plot have yet to be unveiled.
Totally Spies! first premiered in 2001 and has produced six seasons with 26 episodes each. It spawned a prequel film dubbed, Totally Spies! The Movie, and a spinoff series, The Amazing Spiez!
A seventh season of the series is slated for a release later this year after almost a decade since its last episode aired. It will reportedly have the same number of episodes at 22 minutes each and will premiere on Cartoon Network. Prior to the release, the show has been confirmed to return for an eighth season.
