Rest in beats: This Spotify-powered urn generates a playlist for the afterlife and plays it
Do you wish for music that never ends—even when you are long gone? Is Don't Stop the Party your life mantra?
Then this new sonically advanced urn is perfect for you, as it allows you take your tunes with you even beyond the grave.
Spotify collaborated with beverage brand Liquid Death to produce the so-called "Eternal Playlist Urn," dubbed "the world's first music-streaming urn."
"What's the worst part about being dead? You can't listen to music," Liquid Death cheekily said in its promo video for the urn. "Now you can enjoy all your favorite jams for eternity."
"Upload remains, and you'll upgrade any post-life experience," the video continued, citing a supposed study—more likely to be taken with a grain of salt—about how music lessens hauntings.
Apparently, the urn works as a regular container for the dead with the secret lying in its built-in Bluetooth speaker in its lid that allows connection from any compatible device and plays music when taken off.
Along with the urn, Spotify also debuted the Eternal Playlist Generator for U.S. Spotify users.
For it to work, one has to go to the Eternal Playlist Generator on Spotify, answer a few questions like “What’s your eternal vibe?” or “What’s your go-to ghost noise?” Then Spotify will generate a personalized playlist based on the answers and your Spotify listening history.
The collector's item is now available in limited quantities and can be purchased via liquiddeath.com/spotify
