Jared Leto reprises role as Joker in Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'
Oscar-winner Jared Leto is set to reprise his role as the Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League for HBO Max.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leto, who infamously played the DC villain in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad in 2016, has joined the new round of shooting for the highly anticipated "Snyder Cut", which will air as a “four-episode event series” next year.
The news of the actor joining the epic superhero DC film comes as a surprise to everyone considering that Leto’s character did not appear in 2017’s Justice League. Leto’s stint as the Joker in the DCEU ended briefly after he was replaced by Joaquin Phoenix in Todd Phillips’ 2019 film Joker.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that apart from Leto, among those involved in the ongoing shooting for the "Snyder Cut" include Ben Affleck (Batman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Amber Heard. Apart from his return, it’s still unclear how Leto's Clown Prince of Crime will affect the storyline of the upcoming DC film or which other actors are included in the reshoots.
