CNN International's Richard Quest visits Masungi Georeserve to shoot documentary
CNN International anchor Richard Quest visited Masungi Georeserve in Rizal to shoot a documentary.
In an Instagram post on Feb. 20, Masungi Georeserve shared photos of Quest and his team with actor-singer Markki Stroem, traversing the Discovery Trail.
"As long-time fans of Richard, we are humbled by his visit to our small sanctuary," the post's caption read.
"We were also pleased to have Markki back at the trails, with his previous Masungi experience having inspired his winning Tikbalang National Costume at Mr. Universe," it added.
Masungi Georeserve said the documentary will air in April.
"[W]e hope the show helps tell Masungi's story and vision to the world," it added.
Masungi Georeserve is famous for its lush and scenic green landscapes and cool climate. Some activities include exploring the Discovery Trail and Legacy Trail.
The sanctuary has been under threat from mining, logging, and illegal developments, suffering deforestation in the '90s.
Several calls to help protect Masungi Georeserve have been in place, including from local celebrities like Nadine Lustre and even foreigners like Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Masungi Georeserve Foundation was honored at the 2024 Asia Pacific Social Innovation Partnership Awards by Taiwan, 2024 World Economic Forum, as well as in the 2022 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Campaign under the Inspire category for its commendable efforts to save and preserve the environment.
